About the tides at Monument Beach

Tides here follow a regular twice-daily rhythm. The two daily highs usually differ by only 0.5 ft. The average range is about 4.0 ft. Spring tides add a little more at both ends. That is smaller than most Massachusetts stations on this site. From the average lower low to the average higher high, the difference is 4.4 ft. The next spring tides peak on October 10, with a range of 5.2 ft. Neap tides follow on Sunday, when the range shrinks to 3.7 ft.

Monument Beach is a subordinate station. NOAA predicts its tides by adjusting Newport: highs come about 16 min and lows about 30 min later than there.
