About the tides at Mount Sinai Harbor
Expect two roughly equal high tides a day at Mount Sinai Harbor, each arriving about 50 minutes later than the day before. The pattern follows the reference station at Bridgeport, Bridgeport Harbor. With a mean range of about 5.7 ft, the shoreline here changes a lot between high and low water. That is larger than most New York stations on this site. Over the next two weeks the biggest daily range, 7.8 ft, comes on October 27, and the smallest, 4.6 ft, today. Looking a year ahead, predictions peak at 7.5 ft on September 30 and bottom out at −1.0 ft on January 23.
Tides here are worked out from the reference station at Bridgeport, Bridgeport Harbor, with NOAA time and height corrections. Times are good for planning, but local wind can shift them. The nearest other station is Cedar Beach, 0.2 mi away. For tidal currents, see Port Jefferson Harbor entrance.
Predictions are based on Bridgeport, Bridgeport Harbor.
