About the tides at Mud Bay, Goose Island
Mud Bay, Goose Island has a mixed tide. The two daily highs, and especially the two lows, can differ a lot in height. The pattern follows the reference station at Elfin Cove, Port Althorp. The tide range here is very large, about 10.3 ft on average. Water can come in faster than you can walk across flats. Check the time before you go out. The next spring tides peak on October 27, with a range of 18.1 ft. Neap tides follow today, when the range shrinks to 5.7 ft. In the next 12 months the highest predicted tide here is 16.8 ft on December 24, and the lowest is −3.1 ft on July 5.
Mud Bay, Goose Island is a subordinate station. NOAA predicts its tides by adjusting Elfin Cove, Port Althorp: highs come about 6 min and lows about 6 min later than there.
