About the tides at Nahcotta

This is a mixed-tide station. Some days bring a deep low and a shallow low, and a few days have only one of each. The pattern follows the reference station at Toke Point. With a mean range of about 8.3 ft, the shoreline here changes a lot between high and low water. From the average lower low to the average higher high, the difference is 10.5 ft. Over the next two weeks the biggest daily range, 11.7 ft, comes today, and the smallest, 7.3 ft, tomorrow.

Tides here are worked out from the reference station at Toke Point, with NOAA time and height corrections. Times are good for planning, but local wind can shift them. NOAA measured the tide here from 1933 to 1982 to set up these predictions. The nearest other station is Paradise Point, 4 mi away, where high tide comes about 14 min later.
