About the tides at Nannaquaket Neck
Nannaquaket Neck has a semidiurnal tide: two highs and two lows of similar height each day, about 12 hours and 25 minutes apart. On a typical day the water moves about 3.5 ft between high and low. From the average lower low to the average higher high, the difference is 3.9 ft. Over the next two weeks the biggest daily range, 4.6 ft, comes on October 10, and the smallest, 3.2 ft, on Sunday.
Tides here are worked out from the reference station at Newport, with NOAA time and height corrections. Times are good for planning, but local wind can shift them.
