About the tides at Nantasket Beach
Nantasket Beach has a semidiurnal tide: two highs and two lows of similar height each day, about 12 hours and 25 minutes apart. The pattern follows the reference station at Boston, Boston Harbor. With a mean range of about 9.0 ft, the shoreline here changes a lot between high and low water. That is larger than most Massachusetts stations on this site. Over the next two weeks the biggest daily range, 10.8 ft, comes tomorrow, and the smallest, 6.3 ft, on October 18. Looking a year ahead, predictions peak at 11.7 ft on November 26 and bottom out at −1.8 ft on January 23.
Tides here are worked out from the reference station at Boston, Boston Harbor, with NOAA time and height corrections. Times are good for planning, but local wind can shift them. The nearest other station is Crow Point, 2 mi away. For tidal currents, see Weir River entrance.
Predictions are based on Boston, Boston Harbor.
