About the tides at Nokomis

Nokomis has a mixed tide. The two daily highs, and especially the two lows, can differ a lot in height. The mean range is small, about 1.3 ft, so wind and pressure can matter as much as the tide itself. From the average lower low to the average higher high, the difference is 1.9 ft. The next spring tides peak on October 28, with a range of 2.7 ft. Neap tides follow on Thursday, when the range shrinks to 1.1 ft. In the next 12 months the highest predicted tide here is 2.6 ft on August 1, and the lowest is −1.0 ft on January 21.

This is a prediction station. NOAA calculates its tides from past measurements at this spot, but there is no live gauge today. NOAA measured the tide here from 1955 to 2024 to set up these predictions. The nearest other station is Venice Inlet (inside), 0.9 mi away. For tidal currents, see Blackburn Bay, south end, bridge.

Tide predictions and water levels from NOAA CO-OPS. For planning only, not for navigation. Real water levels can differ because of wind, air pressure and river flow. Always check conditions on site.
