About the tides at Point Lookout (marina)
Tides here are mixed. On average the two daily highs differ by 0.7 ft, so check which low is the lower one before you head out. The average range is about 4.1 ft. Spring tides add a little more at both ends. From the average lower low to the average higher high, the difference is 4.7 ft. The next spring tides peak today, with a range of 5.1 ft. Neap tides follow on October 7, when the range shrinks to 4.1 ft.
This is a prediction station. NOAA calculates its tides from past measurements at this spot, but there is no live gauge today. NOAA measured the tide here in 2014 to set up these predictions. The nearest other station is Jones Inlet (Point Lookout), 0.6 mi away, where high tide comes about 14 min earlier. For tidal currents, see Jones Inlet.
Tide predictions and water levels from NOAA CO-OPS. For planning only, not for navigation. Real water levels can differ because of wind, air pressure and river flow. Always check conditions on site.
