About the tides at Ragged Point

Tides here follow a regular twice-daily rhythm. The two daily highs usually differ by only 0.2 ft. Water here rises and falls only about 1.3 ft on an average day. A strong onshore wind can push levels above the prediction. That is smaller than most Virginia stations on this site. Over the next two weeks the biggest daily range, 1.7 ft, comes on October 10, and the smallest, 1.2 ft, on Sunday.
