About the tides at Rappahannock Light
This is a mixed-tide station. Some days bring a deep low and a shallow low, and a few days have only one of each. Water here rises and falls only about 1.5 ft on an average day. A strong onshore wind can push levels above the prediction. That is smaller than most Virginia stations on this site. Over the next two weeks the biggest daily range, 2.1 ft, comes today, and the smallest, 1.6 ft, on Monday.
Predictions for Rappahannock Light come from this station's own tide records. There is no live sensor, so the table shows forecast only. The nearest other station is Gaskins Point, 6 mi away, where high tide comes about 6 min later. For tidal currents, see Stingray Point, 12.5 miles east of.
Tide predictions and water levels from NOAA CO-OPS. For planning only, not for navigation. Real water levels can differ because of wind, air pressure and river flow. Always check conditions on site.
