About the tides at Rasp Ledge

Tides here follow a regular twice-daily rhythm. The two daily highs usually differ by only 1.6 ft. The pattern follows the reference station at Juneau. Rasp Ledge sees a mean range of about 12.6 ft. Low tide can expose a wide area, and the return is fast. That is larger than most Alaska stations on this site. Over the next two weeks the biggest daily range, 19.6 ft, comes on Sunday, and the smallest, 5.1 ft, on October 17. Looking a year ahead, predictions peak at 19.3 ft on December 24 and bottom out at −4.4 ft on July 5.

Tides here are worked out from the reference station at Juneau, with NOAA time and height corrections. Times are good for planning, but local wind can shift them. The nearest other station is Gambier Bay (cannery wharf), 14 mi away, where high tide comes about 7 min earlier.

Predictions are based on Juneau.
