About the tides at Riverside

Tides here are mixed. On average the two daily highs differ by 0.9 ft, so check which low is the lower one before you head out. With a mean range of about 5.7 ft, the shoreline here changes a lot between high and low water. That is larger than most Massachusetts stations on this site. From the average lower low to the average higher high, the difference is 6.3 ft. Over the next two weeks the biggest daily range, 7.2 ft, comes on October 28, and the smallest, 4.7 ft, today. Looking a year ahead, predictions peak at 7.0 ft on June 7 and bottom out at −0.7 ft on January 24.

Predictions for Riverside come from this station's own tide records. There is no live sensor, so the table shows forecast only. NOAA measured the tide here in 1989 to set up these predictions. The nearest other station is Merrimacport, 5 mi away, where high tide comes about 39 min earlier. For tidal currents, see Newburyport, Merrimack River.

Tide predictions and water levels from NOAA CO-OPS. For planning only, not for navigation. Real water levels can differ because of wind, air pressure and river flow. Always check conditions on site.
