About the tides at Russell Fiord
This is a mixed-tide station. Some days bring a deep low and a shallow low, and a few days have only one of each. With a mean range of about 5.5 ft, the shoreline here changes a lot between high and low water. That is smaller than most Alaska stations on this site. From the average lower low to the average higher high, the difference is 7.1 ft. Over the next two weeks the biggest daily range, 9.7 ft, comes on October 28, and the smallest, 3.8 ft, tomorrow. Looking a year ahead, predictions peak at 9.2 ft on November 25 and bottom out at −1.8 ft on June 6.
