About the tides at Point Latouche

This is a mixed-tide station. Some days bring a deep low and a shallow low, and a few days have only one of each. The pattern follows the reference station at Yakutat, Yakutat Bay. The range is large, about 7.8 ft on average. Flats and bars appear and vanish quickly, so keep an eye on the time.

Point Latouche is a subordinate station. NOAA predicts its tides by adjusting Yakutat, Yakutat Bay: highs come about 6 min and lows about 3 min later than there. NOAA measured the tide here in 1978 to set up these predictions. The nearest other station is Russell Fiord, 8 mi away, where high tide comes about 1 h 38 m later.
