About the tides at Safety Harbor

Safety Harbor has a mixed tide. The two daily highs, and especially the two lows, can differ a lot in height. Water here rises and falls only about 1.9 ft on an average day. A strong onshore wind can push levels above the prediction. From the average lower low to the average higher high, the difference is 2.8 ft. Over the next two weeks the biggest daily range, 4.0 ft, comes on October 28, and the smallest, 1.5 ft, on Thursday. Looking a year ahead, predictions peak at 3.6 ft on December 24 and bottom out at −1.0 ft on December 24.

Predictions for Safety Harbor come from this station's own tide records. There is no live sensor, so the table shows forecast only. NOAA measured the tide here from 1975 to 1991 to set up these predictions. The nearest other station is Mobbly Bayou, 3 mi away, where high tide comes about 1 h 7 m later. For tidal currents, see Courtney Campbell Parkway.

Tide predictions and water levels from NOAA CO-OPS. For planning only, not for navigation. Real water levels can differ because of wind, air pressure and river flow. Always check conditions on site.
