About the tides at San Mateo Bridge (west end)
This is a mixed-tide station. Some days bring a deep low and a shallow low, and a few days have only one of each. With a mean range of about 5.9 ft, the shoreline here changes a lot between high and low water. That is larger than most California stations on this site. From the average lower low to the average higher high, the difference is 7.7 ft. Over the next two weeks the biggest daily range, 9.7 ft, comes on October 28, and the smallest, 4.0 ft, on October 31. Looking a year ahead, predictions peak at 9.1 ft on December 24 and bottom out at −2.0 ft on July 5.
