About the tides at Sharp Point

Tides here follow a regular twice-daily rhythm. The two daily highs usually differ by only 1.5 ft. Sharp Point sees a mean range of about 13.3 ft. Low tide can expose a wide area, and the return is fast. That is larger than most Alaska stations on this site. From the average lower low to the average higher high, the difference is 15.8 ft. Over the next two weeks the biggest daily range, 22.4 ft, comes on October 27, and the smallest, 8.2 ft, today. Looking a year ahead, predictions peak at 19.1 ft on November 25 and bottom out at −4.2 ft on December 24.

Predictions for Sharp Point come from this station's own tide records. There is no live sensor, so the table shows forecast only. NOAA measured the tide here in 2024 to set up these predictions. The nearest other station is Port Snettisham, Crib Point, 6 mi away. For tidal currents, see Taku Harbor Entrance.
