About the tides at Port Snettisham
Expect two roughly equal high tides a day at Speel River Arm, each arriving about 50 minutes later than the day before. Port Snettisham sees a mean range of about 12.9 ft. Low tide can expose a wide area, and the return is fast. That is larger than most Alaska stations on this site. From the average lower low to the average higher high, the difference is 15.2 ft. Over the next two weeks the biggest daily range, 19.5 ft, comes on October 25, and the smallest, 6.2 ft, on Saturday. Looking a year ahead, predictions peak at 18.7 ft on November 25 and bottom out at −4.1 ft on July 5.
Predictions for Port Snettisham come from this station's own tide records. There is no live sensor, so the table shows forecast only. NOAA measured the tide here from 1928 to 2024 to set up these predictions. The nearest other station is Port Snettisham, Crib Point, 2 mi away.
