About the tides at Taku Harbor
Taku Harbor has a semidiurnal tide: two highs and two lows of similar height each day, about 12 hours and 25 minutes apart. The pattern follows the reference station at Juneau. The tide range here is very large, about 13.3 ft on average. Water can come in faster than you can walk across flats. Check the time before you go out. That is larger than most Alaska stations on this site. From the average lower low to the average higher high, the difference is 15.8 ft. The next spring tides peak on Sunday, with a range of 19.8 ft. Neap tides follow on October 17, when the range shrinks to 5.5 ft. In the next 12 months the highest predicted tide here is 19.3 ft on December 24, and the lowest is −4.5 ft on July 5.
Taku Harbor is a subordinate station. NOAA predicts its tides by adjusting Juneau: highs come about 3 min and lows about 4 min earlier than there.
