About the tides at Snodgrass Slough

Tides here are mixed. On average the two daily highs differ by 0.5 ft, so check which low is the lower one before you head out. The pattern follows the reference station at Port Chicago, Suisun Bay. Water here rises and falls only about 1.8 ft on an average day. A strong onshore wind can push levels above the prediction. That is smaller than most California stations on this site. Over the next two weeks the biggest daily range, 2.6 ft, comes today, and the smallest, 1.6 ft, on Saturday.

Tides here are worked out from the reference station at Port Chicago, Suisun Bay, with NOAA time and height corrections. Times are good for planning, but local wind can shift them. NOAA measured the tide here from 1977 to 1979 to set up these predictions. The nearest other station is New Hope Bridge, 3 mi away, where high tide comes about 38 min earlier.

Predictions are based on Port Chicago, Suisun Bay.

Tide predictions and water levels from NOAA CO-OPS. For planning only, not for navigation. Real water levels can differ because of wind, air pressure and river flow. Always check conditions on site.
