About the tides at Squamscott River RR. Bridge
Expect two roughly equal high tides a day at Y-19 Squamscott River RR Bridge, each arriving about 50 minutes later than the day before. The pattern follows the reference station at Portland, casco Bay. With a mean range of about 6.7 ft, the shoreline here changes a lot between high and low water. Over the next two weeks the biggest daily range, 8.1 ft, comes tomorrow, and the smallest, 5.2 ft, on October 19. Looking a year ahead, predictions peak at 8.7 ft on December 25 and bottom out at −1.4 ft on January 23.
Tides here are worked out from the reference station at Portland, casco Bay, with NOAA time and height corrections. Times are good for planning, but local wind can shift them. The nearest other station is Dover Point, 6 mi away, where high tide comes about 46 min earlier. For tidal currents, see Furber Strait.
Predictions are based on Portland, casco Bay.
