About the tides at Steilacoom

Steilacoom has a mixed tide. The two daily highs, and especially the two lows, can differ a lot in height. The pattern follows the reference station at Seattle, Puget Sound. With a mean range of about 9.5 ft, the shoreline here changes a lot between high and low water. That is larger than most Washington stations on this site. Over the next two weeks the biggest daily range, 14.3 ft, comes on Tuesday, and the smallest, 10.0 ft, today. Looking a year ahead, predictions peak at 15.7 ft on January 25 and bottom out at −4.1 ft on December 24.

Tides here are worked out from the reference station at Seattle, Puget Sound, with NOAA time and height corrections. Times are good for planning, but local wind can shift them. The nearest other station is Yoman Point, 3 mi away, where high tide comes about 11 min earlier. For tidal currents, see Steilacoom, 0.8 miles North of.

Predictions are based on Seattle, Puget Sound.
