About the tides at Steele Harbor Island

Expect two roughly equal high tides a day at Steele Harbor Island, each arriving about 50 minutes later than the day before. The pattern follows the reference station at Portland,casco Bay. Steele Harbor Island sees a mean range of about 11.2 ft. Low tide can expose a wide area, and the return is fast. That is larger than most Maine stations on this site. Over the next two weeks the biggest daily range, 15.0 ft, comes on October 26, and the smallest, 7.8 ft, on Monday. Looking a year ahead, predictions peak at 14.7 ft on December 25 and bottom out at −2.3 ft on January 23.
