About the tides at Sulphur Point

Tides at Port of Panama City are mostly diurnal: one rise and one fall a day, with a slow change between them. Water here rises and falls only about 1.3 ft on an average day. A strong onshore wind can push levels above the prediction. Over the next two weeks the biggest daily range, 2.5 ft, comes on October 30, and the smallest, 0.5 ft, on Thursday. Looking a year ahead, predictions peak at 2.2 ft on October 2 and bottom out at −1.2 ft on January 20.
