About the tides at Tavernier Creek
Tides here follow a regular twice-daily rhythm. The two daily highs usually differ by only 0.1 ft. The pattern follows the reference station at Miami Beach, Government Cut. Water here rises and falls only about 1.1 ft on an average day. A strong onshore wind can push levels above the prediction. That is smaller than most Florida stations on this site. Looking a year ahead, predictions peak at 2.1 ft on September 30 and bottom out at −0.8 ft on January 23.
Tides here are worked out from the reference station at Miami Beach, Government Cut, with NOAA time and height corrections. Times are good for planning, but local wind can shift them. The nearest other station is Tavernier Harbor, 0.8 mi away, where high tide comes about 18 min earlier.
Predictions are based on Miami Beach, Government Cut.
Tide predictions and water levels from NOAA CO-OPS. For planning only, not for navigation. Real water levels can differ because of wind, air pressure and river flow. Always check conditions on site.
