About the tides at Triton Head
This is a mixed-tide station. Some days bring a deep low and a shallow low, and a few days have only one of each. With a mean range of about 7.4 ft, the shoreline here changes a lot between high and low water. Over the next two weeks the biggest daily range, 12.5 ft, comes tomorrow, and the smallest, 6.5 ft, on October 11.
Triton Head is a subordinate station, so NOAA publishes only its high and low times and heights. The nearest other station is Pleasant Harbor, 5 mi away, where high tide comes about 8 min earlier. For tidal currents, see Chinom Point.
Tide predictions and water levels from NOAA CO-OPS. For planning only, not for navigation. Real water levels can differ because of wind, air pressure and river flow. Always check conditions on site.
