About the tides at Upper Matecumbe Key, west end, Hawk Channel

This is a mixed-tide station. Some days bring a deep low and a shallow low, and a few days have only one of each. The pattern follows the reference station at Key West. The mean range is small, about 1.6 ft, so wind and pressure can matter as much as the tide itself. The next spring tides peak on October 28, with a range of 2.5 ft. Neap tides follow on October 30, when the range shrinks to 1.3 ft. In the next 12 months the highest predicted tide here is 2.5 ft on October 28, and the lowest is −0.2 ft on January 21.

Upper Matecumbe Key, west end, Hawk Channel is a subordinate station. NOAA predicts its tides by adjusting Key West: highs come about 60 min earlier and lows about 14 min later than there.
