About the tides at Vallenar Point
Expect two roughly equal high tides a day at Vallenar Point, each arriving about 50 minutes later than the day before. The pattern follows the reference station at Ketchikan. Vallenar Point sees a mean range of about 12.6 ft. Low tide can expose a wide area, and the return is fast. That is larger than most Alaska stations on this site. Over the next two weeks the biggest daily range, 18.9 ft, comes on Sunday, and the smallest, 5.7 ft, on October 17. Looking a year ahead, predictions peak at 18.9 ft on December 24 and bottom out at −4.2 ft on July 5.
Tides here are worked out from the reference station at Ketchikan, with NOAA time and height corrections. Times are good for planning, but local wind can shift them. The nearest other station is Ward Cove, 5 mi away. For tidal currents, see Rosa Reef, 0.5 mile north of.
Predictions are based on Ketchikan.
