About the tides at West Mystic
West Mystic has a mixed tide. The two daily highs, and especially the two lows, can differ a lot in height. On a typical day the water moves about 2.5 ft between high and low. That is smaller than most Connecticut stations on this site. From the average lower low to the average higher high, the difference is 3.0 ft. Over the next two weeks the biggest daily range, 3.7 ft, comes on October 27, and the smallest, 1.5 ft, on Sunday. Looking a year ahead, predictions peak at 3.5 ft on July 3 and bottom out at −0.6 ft on January 22.
Predictions for West Mystic come from this station's own tide records. There is no live sensor, so the table shows forecast only. NOAA measured the tide here in 2015 to set up these predictions. The nearest other station is Watch Hill Point, 7 mi away, where high tide comes about 58 min earlier. For tidal currents, see Ram Island Reef, south of.
