About the tides at Whale Branch entrance

Whale Branch entrance has a semidiurnal tide: two highs and two lows of similar height each day, about 12 hours and 25 minutes apart. With a mean range of about 7.2 ft, the shoreline here changes a lot between high and low water. That is larger than most South Carolina stations on this site. Over the next two weeks the biggest daily range, 8.7 ft, comes today, and the smallest, 7.5 ft, on Sunday.
