About the tides at Anacortes

This is a mixed-tide station. Some days bring a deep low and a shallow low, and a few days have only one of each. The pattern follows the reference station at Port Townsend. With a mean range of about 5.1 ft, the shoreline here changes a lot between high and low water. That is smaller than most Washington stations on this site. Over the next two weeks the biggest daily range, 9.3 ft, comes tomorrow, and the smallest, 2.6 ft, on October 12.

Tides here are worked out from the reference station at Port Townsend, with NOAA time and height corrections. Times are good for planning, but local wind can shift them. NOAA measured the tide here from 1973 to 1995 to set up these predictions. The nearest other station is Ship Harbor, 3 mi away. For tidal currents, see Guemes Channel, East Entrance.
