About the tides at Ashepoo

Tides here follow a regular twice-daily rhythm. The two daily highs usually differ by only 0.3 ft. The pattern follows the reference station at Fort Pulaski, Savannah River Entrance. The average range is about 2.2 ft. Spring tides add a little more at both ends. That is smaller than most South Carolina stations on this site. From the average lower low to the average higher high, the difference is 2.5 ft. The next spring tides peak today, with a range of 2.7 ft. Neap tides follow on Sunday, when the range shrinks to 1.7 ft.

Ashepoo is a subordinate station. NOAA predicts its tides by adjusting Fort Pulaski, Savannah River Entrance: highs come about 258 min and lows about 240 min later than there.
