About the tides at Ashepoo
Tides here follow a regular twice-daily rhythm. The two daily highs usually differ by only 0.2 ft. The pattern follows the reference station at Fort Pulaski, Savannah River. The average range is about 2.2 ft. Spring tides add a little more at both ends. That is smaller than most South Carolina stations on this site. From the average lower low to the average higher high, the difference is 2.5 ft. The next spring tides peak on October 28, with a range of 3.2 ft. Neap tides follow today, when the range shrinks to 0.4 ft. In the next 12 months the highest predicted tide here is 3.0 ft on October 27, and the lowest is −1.9 ft on January 23.
Ashepoo is a subordinate station. NOAA predicts its tides by adjusting Fort Pulaski, Savannah River: highs come about 258 min and lows about 240 min later than there.
