About the tides at Assiscunk Creek
Expect two roughly equal high tides a day at Delaware River, each arriving about 50 minutes later than the day before. The pattern follows the reference station at Philadelphia (USCG Sta.), Delaware River. The range is large, about 6.7 ft on average. Flats and bars appear and vanish quickly, so keep an eye on the time. That is larger than most New Jersey stations on this site. From the average lower low to the average higher high, the difference is 7.2 ft. The next spring tides peak on October 27, with a range of 7.6 ft. Neap tides follow on Thursday, when the range shrinks to 6.3 ft. In the next 12 months the highest predicted tide here is 8.3 ft on August 3, and the lowest is −0.4 ft on January 26.
Assiscunk Creek is a subordinate station. NOAA predicts its tides by adjusting Philadelphia (USCG Sta.), Delaware River: highs come about 64 min and lows about 91 min later than there. NOAA measured the tide here from 1977 to 1978 to set up these predictions. The nearest other station is Burlington, 1 mi away, where high tide comes about 11 min earlier. For tidal currents, see Edgewater Range at Devlin Range.
Predictions are based on Philadelphia (USCG Sta.), Delaware River.
