About the tides at Funter

Funter has a semidiurnal tide: two highs and two lows of similar height each day, about 12 hours and 25 minutes apart. The pattern follows the reference station at Juneau, Gastineau Channel, Stephens Pass. The tide range here is very large, about 12.3 ft on average. Water can come in faster than you can walk across flats. Check the time before you go out. That is larger than most Alaska stations on this site. The next spring tides peak today, with a range of 19.3 ft. Neap tides follow on Saturday, when the range shrinks to 4.8 ft. In the next 12 months the highest predicted tide here is 18.8 ft on December 24, and the lowest is −4.5 ft on July 5.

Funter is a subordinate station. NOAA predicts its tides by adjusting Juneau, Gastineau Channel, Stephens Pass: highs come about 0 min and lows about 1 min later than there. NOAA measured the tide here from 1922 to 1999 to set up these predictions. The nearest other station is Barlow Cove, 5 mi away. For tidal currents, see Piling Point, east of.

Predictions are based on Juneau, Gastineau Channel, Stephens Pass.
