About the tides at Bay Slough

Bay Slough has a mixed tide. The two daily highs, and especially the two lows, can differ a lot in height. The pattern follows the reference station at San Francisco, San Francisco Bay. With a mean range of about 5.8 ft, the shoreline here changes a lot between high and low water. That is larger than most California stations on this site. Over the next two weeks the biggest daily range, 10.1 ft, comes on October 28, and the smallest, 4.4 ft, on October 31. Looking a year ahead, predictions peak at 9.8 ft on December 24 and bottom out at −1.8 ft on December 24.
