About the tides at Carysfort Reef
Expect two roughly equal high tides a day at Carysfort Reef Lighthouse, each arriving about 50 minutes later than the day before. The pattern follows the reference station at Miami Beach, Government Cut. The average range is about 2.3 ft. Spring tides add a little more at both ends. That is larger than most Florida stations on this site. From the average lower low to the average higher high, the difference is 2.5 ft. In the next 12 months the highest predicted tide here is 3.5 ft on September 30, and the lowest is −1.1 ft on January 23.
Carysfort Reef is a subordinate station. NOAA predicts its tides by adjusting Miami Beach, Government Cut: highs come about 19 min and lows about 39 min later than there. NOAA measured the tide here from 1975 to 1991 to set up these predictions. The nearest other station is Ocean Reef Harbor, 7 mi away, where high tide comes about 27 min earlier. For tidal currents, see Caesar Creek, Biscayne Bay.
Predictions are based on Miami Beach, Government Cut.
