About the tides at Center Harbor

Tides here follow a regular twice-daily rhythm. The two daily highs usually differ by only 0.8 ft. The pattern follows the reference station at Bar Harbor, Frenchman Bay. The range is large, about 9.5 ft on average. Flats and bars appear and vanish quickly, so keep an eye on the time. The next spring tides peak on October 28, with a range of 13.3 ft. Neap tides follow on Monday, when the range shrinks to 6.7 ft. In the next 12 months the highest predicted tide here is 12.5 ft on August 4, and the lowest is −1.8 ft on January 23.

Center Harbor is a subordinate station. NOAA predicts its tides by adjusting Bar Harbor, Frenchman Bay: highs come about 9 min and lows about 12 min later than there. The nearest other station is Oceanville, 5 mi away. For tidal currents, see Howard Ledges, NE of, Eggemoggin Reach.

Predictions are based on Bar Harbor, Frenchman Bay.
