About the tides at Oceanville
Expect two roughly equal high tides a day at Deer Island, each arriving about 50 minutes later than the day before. The range is large, about 9.9 ft on average. Flats and bars appear and vanish quickly, so keep an eye on the time. From the average lower low to the average higher high, the difference is 10.6 ft. The next spring tides peak on October 26, with a range of 12.3 ft. Neap tides follow on Monday, when the range shrinks to 7.4 ft. In the next 12 months the highest predicted tide here is 12.5 ft on January 24, and the lowest is −2.0 ft on January 24.
This is a prediction station. NOAA calculates its tides from past measurements at this spot, but there is no live gauge today. NOAA measured the tide here in 2010 to set up these predictions. The nearest other station is Stonington, 3 mi away, where high tide comes about 6 min earlier. For tidal currents, see Grog Island, E of, Deer Island Thorofare.
Tide predictions and water levels from NOAA CO-OPS. For planning only, not for navigation. Real water levels can differ because of wind, air pressure and river flow. Always check conditions on site.
