About the tides at Little Deer Isle

Tides here follow a regular twice-daily rhythm. The two daily highs usually differ by only 0.7 ft. The pattern follows the reference station at Bar Harbor, Frenchman Bay. With a mean range of about 9.5 ft, the shoreline here changes a lot between high and low water. Looking a year ahead, predictions peak at 12.4 ft on August 4 and bottom out at −1.8 ft on January 23.
