About the tides at Dias Creek
This is a mixed-tide station. Some days bring a deep low and a shallow low, and a few days have only one of each. The pattern follows the reference station at Lewes (Breakwater Harbor). Water here rises and falls only about 1.8 ft on an average day. A strong onshore wind can push levels above the prediction. That is smaller than most New Jersey stations on this site. Over the next two weeks the biggest daily range, 2.3 ft, comes on Sunday, and the smallest, 1.3 ft, on October 18. Looking a year ahead, predictions peak at 2.6 ft on August 2 and bottom out at −0.5 ft on January 23.
Tides here are worked out from the reference station at Lewes (Breakwater Harbor), with NOAA time and height corrections. Times are good for planning, but local wind can shift them. NOAA measured the tide here in 1978 to set up these predictions. The nearest other station is Bidwell Creek, 3 mi away, where high tide comes about 33 min earlier.
