About the tides at Drift River Terminal

Tides here follow a regular twice-daily rhythm. The two daily highs usually differ by only 1.6 ft. The pattern follows the reference station at Seldovia, Cook Inlet. Drift River Terminal sees a mean range of about 15.0 ft. Low tide can expose a wide area, and the return is fast. That is larger than most Alaska stations on this site. Looking a year ahead, predictions peak at 22.6 ft on January 23 and bottom out at −6.4 ft on July 5.
