About the tides at Essex
This is a mixed-tide station. Some days bring a deep low and a shallow low, and a few days have only one of each. The average range is about 2.8 ft. Spring tides add a little more at both ends. That is smaller than most Connecticut stations on this site. The next spring tides peak on October 11, with a range of 3.8 ft. Neap tides follow on Saturday, when the range shrinks to 2.9 ft.
