About the tides at Eureka Slough Bridge
Eureka Slough Bridge has a mixed tide. The two daily highs, and especially the two lows, can differ a lot in height. The pattern follows the reference station at HUMBOLDT BAY (North Spit). The range is large, about 5.4 ft on average. Flats and bars appear and vanish quickly, so keep an eye on the time. That is larger than most California stations on this site. From the average lower low to the average higher high, the difference is 7.4 ft. The next spring tides peak today, with a range of 8.7 ft. Neap tides follow on Saturday, when the range shrinks to 3.4 ft.
Eureka Slough Bridge is a subordinate station. NOAA predicts its tides by adjusting HUMBOLDT BAY (North Spit): highs come about 33 min and lows about 19 min later than there. NOAA measured the tide here from 1978 to 1979 to set up these predictions. The nearest other station is Eureka, 1 mi away, where high tide comes about 7 min earlier.
