About the tides at Excursion Inlet

This is a mixed-tide station. Some days bring a deep low and a shallow low, and a few days have only one of each. The pattern follows the reference station at Elfin Cove, Port Althorp. Excursion Inlet sees a mean range of about 11.8 ft. Low tide can expose a wide area, and the return is fast. That is larger than most Alaska stations on this site. Looking a year ahead, predictions peak at 19.0 ft on December 24 and bottom out at −3.5 ft on July 5.

Tides here are worked out from the reference station at Elfin Cove, Port Althorp, with NOAA time and height corrections. Times are good for planning, but local wind can shift them.
