About the tides at Excursion Inlet Entrance
Expect two roughly equal high tides a day at Excursion Inlet (South End), each arriving about 50 minutes later than the day before. The tide range here is very large, about 12.4 ft on average. Water can come in faster than you can walk across flats. Check the time before you go out. That is larger than most Alaska stations on this site. From the average lower low to the average higher high, the difference is 14.9 ft. The next spring tides peak today, with a range of 18.4 ft. Neap tides follow on Saturday, when the range shrinks to 5.6 ft. In the next 12 months the highest predicted tide here is 18.3 ft on November 25, and the lowest is −3.8 ft on July 5.
