About the tides at Falmouth Heights
Expect two roughly equal high tides a day at Falmouth Heights, each arriving about 50 minutes later than the day before. The pattern follows the reference station at Boston. The mean range is small, about 1.3 ft, so wind and pressure can matter as much as the tide itself. That is smaller than most Massachusetts stations on this site. The next spring tides peak today, with a range of 1.6 ft. Neap tides follow on Sunday, when the range shrinks to 1.2 ft.
Falmouth Heights is a subordinate station. NOAA predicts its tides by adjusting Boston: highs come about 16 min and lows about 9 min earlier than there. The nearest other station is Little Harbor, 4 mi away, where high tide comes about 2 h 40 m earlier. For tidal currents, see L'Hommedieu Shoal, north of west end.
Predictions are based on Boston.
