About the tides at Green Cove Springs
Tides here follow a regular twice-daily rhythm. The two daily highs usually differ by only 0.1 ft. The pattern follows the reference station at Mayport (Bar Pilot Dock). The mean range is small, about 0.8 ft, so wind and pressure can matter as much as the tide itself. That is smaller than most Florida stations on this site. The next spring tides peak tomorrow, with a range of 0.9 ft. Neap tides follow on October 18, when the range shrinks to 0.4 ft. In the next 12 months the highest predicted tide here is 1.0 ft on October 27, and the lowest is −0.3 ft on January 23.
Green Cove Springs is a subordinate station. NOAA predicts its tides by adjusting Mayport (Bar Pilot Dock): highs come about 297 min and lows about 355 min later than there.
