About the tides at Hunter Bay
Hunter Bay has a mixed tide. The two daily highs, and especially the two lows, can differ a lot in height. The pattern follows the reference station at Sitka. Hunter Bay sees a mean range of about 10.1 ft. Low tide can expose a wide area, and the return is fast. Over the next two weeks the biggest daily range, 14.5 ft, comes on Sunday, and the smallest, 5.5 ft, on October 17. Looking a year ahead, predictions peak at 15.3 ft on December 24 and bottom out at −3.1 ft on July 5.
