About the tides at Mabel Island

Mabel Island has a mixed tide. The two daily highs, and especially the two lows, can differ a lot in height. The pattern follows the reference station at Sitka. The tide range here is very large, about 10.2 ft on average. Water can come in faster than you can walk across flats. Check the time before you go out. The next spring tides peak on October 11, with a range of 14.6 ft. Neap tides follow on Friday, when the range shrinks to 8.3 ft.
