About the tides at Jack Bay

This is a mixed-tide station. Some days bring a deep low and a shallow low, and a few days have only one of each. The pattern follows the reference station at VALDEZ, Port Valdez. The range is large, about 9.4 ft on average. Flats and bars appear and vanish quickly, so keep an eye on the time. The next spring tides peak on October 11, with a range of 14.7 ft. Neap tides follow on Friday, when the range shrinks to 7.4 ft.

Jack Bay is a subordinate station. NOAA predicts its tides by adjusting VALDEZ, Port Valdez: highs come about 1 min and lows about 2 min earlier than there. The nearest other station is Rocky Point, 8 mi away. For tidal currents, see Valdez Narrows.
